Today I’m participating in the Three Wishes Blog Blitz, hosted by author Juliet Madison! From 2nd to 6th September you’ll have the chance to win some awesome prizes at all the blogs participating in the blitz, including mine. All you have to do is follow my instructions below for winning the prize I have on offer, and then you can click over to Juliet’s blog to enter her prize draw, and see the list of all other blogs taking part and enter their giveaways as well. How cool is that? Why is it called the Three Wishes Blog Blitz? Juliet’s new romantic comedy release, I Dream of Johnny, is about three wishes, a high-tech genie in a lamp, and one very unfortunate typo that proves magic isn’t all it cracked up to be…
Readers of this blog who leave a comment will go in the draw to win a signed copy of my debut novel Blackwattle Lake.
The theme of the blog blitz – Three Wishes – got me thinking about the protagonist in my soon to be released novel Essie’s Way. Miranda’s one of those girls that seems to have it all – a great job, plenty of cash, a lifestyle most thirty-somethings would kill for and to top it off is about to be married to a handsome young professional in a perfectly planned fairytale wedding. But when Miranda discovers that her supposedly long-dead grandmother could be well and truly alive things start to go awry.
So what are the three things Miranda has wished for all her life? One of them is a “normal” family. While her father, Brian, is an all round nice guy, Miranda’s mother, Kathleen has some serious issues. Suffice to say that Miranda’s relationship with her is not exactly warm and fuzzy. Without an extended family Miranda has always dreamt of having a wise, loving grandmother, one who will tell her stories and shower her with kisses.
Being a highly intelligent over achiever Miranda has always wished for a partnership in the law firm where she’s worked for the last five years. She’s young, efficient and ambitious and the only thing standing in her way is Daniel Blount, a male version of herself, the only other contender for the highly coveted promotion. If Miranda can nail this partnership her financial security and career path will surely be secured.
Last but not least on Miranda’s wish list is to live happily ever after with the man of her dreams. A devotee of those romantic old black and white movies where the girl always got the right guy Miranda has been busy planning her wedding to James, her long time boyfriend and everything is going to be perfect. A gorgeous old chapel, a vintage style lace dress and maybe that antique necklace of her mother’s that she remembers from her childhood.
And that’s where things start to come undone.
What does Miranda discover that throws her life into chaos and why is that voice whispering in her ear “be careful what you wish for”?
Well, if I told you the answer to those questions I’d be giving away too much and I’d much rather you found out for yourself when Essie’s Way is released in December!

I always wished that I would overcome my fear of driving, and I finally did, at age almost 33! Thankfully, it has been nothing but a positive experience, apart from one minor smash (not my fault). I now wish for health and happiness for my family; apart from that, I am pretty blessed! Thanks so much for the opportunity to win your book!
Lovely to hear from you Michelle. And good on you for getting that licence! So wonderful to have that independence. Good luck with the book draw.
I really wish only for everyone to be healthy and happy and have all they need and want. 2 years ago I made a wish on New Years Eve, to have another baby, and my wish came true. Now I have 2 angels and feel so blessed. I can’t be more happier and more pleased. Thank you for the great giveaway!
Gorgeous wishes! I love “meeting” people who are so contented and happy with their lives. Good luck with the giveaway.
A “normal” family? Yes, one of those would be nice – lol.
Good luck with that one Kristy!
I’d wish for health & happiness for loved ones.
A self-cleaning house.
Calorie free chocolate.
If only!!
You and me both Mary!
Hmm…my three would be:
– family to be happy and healthy
– have more leisure time
– eternal credit at bookstores
Thank you for running a giveaway and good luck everyone!
Sometimes I think I should wish more as mostly what I set my mind to comes true. I wished for my own business, to be married with kids and I’ve got those. I guess now I just wish for a long, happy and healthy life.
